In today's current internet environment, it's not enough to just build or design a website for your clients without first knowing and understanding how many of todays search technologies work. Most who would be site designers or developers are not aware of the many inner workings of today's search, so their completed projects end up not having the type of impact they could have, if the knowledge of todays search were incorporated into them.

Our Need To Know
Sitting around and speculating on what Google's, or Yahoo's next moves might be, was just not for us. We needed to know, first hand, how our websites would perform, under direct parsing, that could be monitored in a very controlled environment. We had to put a core engine up against our coding, in order to see how it might be affected, and, to see how the core engine would respond. Much like crash testing a car, if you will.

Most of our projects won't go out the door without some rigorous testing first. And, as a result of this testing, our search technologies department was born.

There are any number of free search engines on the net, that you can download and set up for free. These are fine for what they are, and can be useful, or not, depending on their application. Our BigSkyBot was born out of the core engine concept, and instead of writing off of a "free core engine", we wrote ours from scratch.

BigSkyBot
Our current project is commonly refered to as "BigSkyBot". Our core technology with regard to this engine has allowed us to provide a certain scalability that other "free core engines" do not have. BigSkyBot can be used under many different applications, and ranges in it's abilities from providing local site search, to actually parsing and indexing hundreds of thousands of pages.

Being flexible in today's internet environment is an absolute must. Knowing and understanding the principles applied when dealing with search is also an absolute must. Without such knowladge, your website projects don't get the fullest advantage, and many times can be found languishing in the backwaters of the internet as a result.
